An illuminated dolphin puppetry act by Creature Encounters
Coventry, 2025

Pod is an outdoor, site-responsive, processional performance. It explores humanity’s relationship with the natural world, inviting audiences to explore their connection to the ocean and the creatures in it.

I’ve always loved dolphins and having never met one in the flesh, puppeteering one of Creature Encounter’s beautifully made dolphin calves is undoubtedly the next best thing!

After being invited to get creative in the R&D period of this interdisciplinary act, at it’s embryonic stage, I then had the the pleasure of joining the team once again to performing this act’s debut. Check it out for yourself in the video below; a parade of dolphins in Coventry City, for the 2025 christmas lights event. I cannot wait to catch the next wave with these gorgeous creatures!


My role

Dolphin puppeteer:

  • R&D: explore and create, as an individual and with an ensemble. Improvise and experiment, sharing movement and choreography ideas.
  • Rehearse: work generously again, collaborating and learning choreography for all puppeteer tracks for maximum flexibility for swing/cover.
  • Perform: engage audiences with playful curiosity.
