As You Like It

I was very pleased to be offered the role of Celia in a production of William Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ being presented by Civil Brawl Theatre Company in 2017. It was very exciting to work on this in the town of Stratford-Upon-Avon, where his work always feels most relevant. It’s worth noting here that what can seem like the worst audition you have ever done as an actor, can still result in a warm invitation to join a production. I always find scenarios like that bizarre, but it happens!

Having not performed any Shakespeare work since college, this was an opportunity to get to grips with his text again. Most castings for Shakespeare adaptations specify that to apply, previous experience in the field is essential. Fortunately, on this occasion, this wasn’t the case. Working on this play was an invaluable experience and a crucial part of my growth and development, especially as an actress with ambitions of making it onto the RSC stage one day.

Here are a few production photographs. You’ll find me to be far left actress in each image.
