SCRATCH & SNIFF
A puppetry short film, an original project of my own.
Winner of Bristol 48hr puppet short film challenge, 2024
Scratch & Sniff is a short film, led by me, in collaboration with film-maker Jack Buck.
This short follows a lonely creature who receives a magazine through their letterbox. The aroma of a ‘scratch and sniff’ fragrance sample elicits a daydream of times less lonely and prompts a surprise delivery.
My role
- Concept & narrative
- Puppet designer and maker
- Set design, then created in collaboration with Jack Buck
- Sole puppeteer
The prompts for this film challenge were: scratch (action), tape (prop) and dream (theme).
Once the prompts were announced, entrants and their teammates had just 48 hours to create and submit their entries.
