Loretta has been a keen poet since her childhood years. She is just as driven now by images and emotions poems evoke as she was then. In the last year, she has enjoyed writing after a long break, and was overjoyed to have her principle poem, Barbarous, both longlisted for the film poem category in Outspoken London’s Prize for Poetry 2017 and published in the northern poetry ‘zine by Nymphs and Thugs called Soapbox. Barbarous can be viewed below.
‘Barbarous’ is Loretta Hope’s first poem about homelessness and touches on the savage weather endured throughout the winter months and acknowledges the loss of lives on the street, that may go unnoticed.
To challenge and develop her writing skills, Loretta will shortly begin a Poem A Week challenge (also known as PAW), inspired by poet Ben Norris. Subscribe to her channel below to stay up to date with the latest!
